The Locomotive Publishing Co. Ltd, 3 Amen Corner, E.C. trading as Amen Cards had its origins in the last decade of the nineteenth century and published railway postcards for upwards of fifty years. Their heyday was probably the nineteen-twenties and early 'thirties when the golden era of steam locomotion reached its apogee. Most of the images are reproduced with acknowledgement to Amen Cards. The rest are culled from various sources. They all pay tribute to the evocative days of railway transport when travel was fun and trains were exuberant.
